Covid information - Entry into Italy from foreign Countries

From the 3rd of June, rules are different depending on the country of origin or destination.

 

Travel is freely permitted for any reason from and to the following States:

  • Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Hungary
  • Non-EU States of the Schengen Agreement: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
  • Andorra, Principality of Monaco
  • Republic of San Marino and Vatican City State.

 

From the 3rd of June, people entering or returning to Italy from these countries are no longer subject to health surveillance and self-isolation for 14 days, unless they have stayed in different countries during the 14 days prior to entry into Italy.

 

From the 1st of July, entry into the national territory of Italy is also allowed to nationals of third States residing in the following States and territories: Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay.

 

The return from States and territories other than those listed above is allowed only for proven work requirements, absolute urgency, health reasons, proven study requirements or in case of return to one's home or residence.

 

All people who return to Italy from these States and territories, including, from the 1st of July, third-country nationals living in the States and territories listed, even if asymptomatic, are obliged to undergo health surveillance and self- isolation for a period of 14 days and to communicate immediately their entry to the Prevention Department through the online self-certification form.
