The implementation of one (or more) management systems contributes to the successful leading of a company or organization.
The improvement of the corporate process requires taking action on all resources - tangible and intangible (plants, machines, equipment, personnel, training) - and methodologies (procedures, methods, software) that interact to generate synergy and know-how capable of converting the (carefully and expediently analyzed) input into improved output.
Of course, in a management system whose purpose is to establish and implement a policy of quality and objectives, it is essential that the processes interconnect, and interact in harmony to create a true quality management system.
Therefore these processes are introduced to meet goals and above all to enhance a continuous improvement of performance within the company, thus bringing about the ability to foresee the customers' needs and expectations and those of other parties interested.
Certifications obtained by SAT
SAT - Società Aeroporto Toscano - was the first airport management company to obtain the ISO 9002 certification for all its airport services, including Security.
In fact, in 2000 SAT extended the quality certification obtained in 1997 according to the ISO 9001 standards to all of the airport services - passenger assistance, aircraft, and cargo - also to the remaining non-aeronautical services - parking, restaurants, bars, commercial services, car rental, information and security services - including management of the infrastructures.
In 2003, SAT has achieved the SA8000 Certificate, showing a quality of its services free from explotation or non-safety of labour, making sure of social and ethical responsability to its staff (both SAT's staff and its suppliers).
In 2004, SAT has achieved the ISO 14001 Certificate, to reduce the environmental impacts generated by the airport activity, whose effects are most directly linked with airport activities, i.e. noise, air quality and subsoil.
Since 1997, the certifications have been issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a certifying body and market leader.
