Through its development strategy, SAT has managed to change its role by means of innovative conception of airport management, evolving from a mere provider of airport infrastructures to an active operator in the airport management and in the air passenger and cargo traffic growth.
The activities carried out by SAT are organized in two main business areas: “aviation” (aeronautical activities) and “non-aviation” (non-aeronautical activities).

The aviation activities consist mainly of:
(a)  managing and developing airport infrastructures, also including security controls and police services
(b)  aviation marketing dedicated to the growth of passenger and cargo traffic of Pisa airport and network of destinations connected with Pisa airport.
(c)  ground handling services management (ground handling), that includes all services dedicated to satisfying ground assistance needs for aircraft, passengers and goods.

The non-aviation activities consist of exploiting the Airport’s real estate and commercial capacities and are managed by the Company (i) through sub-contracts to third parties and/or (ii) through direct handling.
