The “Airport” shopping centre
Pisa Airport is not only a place where aircraft land and take off but also a centre of commercial activities and services which offers passengers, airport operators and residents of nearby areas an opportunity for shopping and leisure - just like a shopping centre.
The range of products available in the Galileo Galilei Airport shops are the result of a thorough selection of suppliers, giving particular attention to the valorization of the typical regional and local products, and to the respect of service standards indicated in the respective sub-contracted agreements.
The retail business activity in the Airport’s passenger terminal is also very close to the city centre. Consequently many city customers come to shop and use the various services available (banking, bureau de change, railway, DHL and Fedex couriers, hair stylist).
For city customers, the terminal has turned out to be a real service centre open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
In particular, the “Airport” shopping centre relies on some important characteristics:
A fertile ground for business opportunities!
With over 3,700,000 passengers, Galilei Airport is only a stone’s throw away from the city centre, and with plenty of room for expansion makes an ideal location for new businesses.
Our contracts
As is customary in the sector, SAT stipulates subconcession contracts with the managers of businesses operating at the Airport. Contracts are multiannual in duration and provide for royalties to be paid in proportion to the turnover, with a guaranteed annual minimum. Service standards are also stipulated: opening 365 days a year, price policies in line with shops of the same type operating in town, compliance with the quality standards which have earned SAT the ISO 9002 certification, etc.
