The Airport in figures

Alongside the quality of its infrastructures, Galilei Airport has the best runway facilities in Central Italy after Fiumicino Airport. Pisa Airport has been selected by many intercontinental airlines as the alternative airport should Fiumicino be unavailable, because it has two runways respectively of 3,000 and 2,800 meters long.
The proximity of the runways to the sea ensures maximum safety and respect for the environment.

In 2009 Pisa International Airport ranked 6th for passenger traffic amongst the Italian regional airports (Rome and Milan airport systems not included) and 8th amongst all Italian airports

Aware of Pisa Airport's role as gateway to Tuscany, SAT has already defined and planned its development in the new Masterplan, presented in March 2006.
